From having worked for a large Poultry Company for 4 years and through all my Research on Electro-Pure I can only say “ well here we go again”! Not meaning to trivialize this possible pandemic, but just to acknowledge that once again the conditions have been right for a viral flair-up. In most cases the virus is carried by wild birds that find themselves around domestic poultry to other flocks of wild birds and then to other domestic poultry operations as well. Once even one bird is infected in the densely populated domestic poultry farms, it rapidly spreads throughout that whole flock. In this manner the viral infection can rapidly affect thousands then millions of birds in only a few weeks and if it gets into the huge mega-farm operations that number can rapidly run into the billions. The virus is usually fatal to the birds and because of the design of its DNA (at this time) not very contagious to humans. However, due the the rapid reproduction rate of viruses it is very common for mutations to occur. With these mutations comes changes than have in the past, allowed the avian influenza virus to effect humans. This type of ‘flu’ generally causes severe flu symptoms and tends to reside in the respiratory system often resulting in pneumonia, coughing, as well as the usual muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Some reports have suggested that nearly 50% of those that contract this infection have died. So, as reports still come in on the news I wait to hear that the disease has mutated just a bit more to where not only can it pass from fowl to human, but is now able to pass from human to human. At this point the whole situation changes drastically. History reminds us of the 1918 flu epidemic that killed millions in the United States. The infection raced through the cities and overwhelmed the fledgling hospital system. It is suspected that that flu was an Avian type virus that ‘jumped’ to humans.
Knowing this, it is often stated by those involved with disease control, that it is not a matter of ‘iF’ this pandemic could happen again, but a matter of ‘WHEN’. Looking at the differences in our society between 1918 and 2006, its easy to see the situation if it occurs this time, will be much different and unfortunately it looks like the odds are weighted toward the virus to succeed much better. Most of our poultry are produced in huge poultry houses that have 100’s of thousands of birds packed into marginal environments. Also, transportation today is hundreds of times faster with people moving worldwide each week. Combine that with our huge stores, sporting events, large schools and other meeting places and the potential for any virus to spread rapidly is great; far greater than in the early 1800’s. To further complicate the problem, we do not have a vaccine for this flu because it doesn’t yet exist and it takes months to isolate, design and then manufacture a new vaccine. No prescription drugs are known to be effective against this type of flu either.
Time and time again this senario has set up and as of yet it has not quite happened, but it is only a matter of time experts predict. So, what can we do. It seems that with all the news on the past couple of hurricanes we should perhaps pay attention and realize that we as private citizens need to make some preparations to take care of ourselves in the event of crisis. This possible pandemic would require very similar preparations. They should include but not necessarily be limited to several items depending on your particular situation. I think it is always a good idea to have at least thought through a possible evacuation plan no matter where you live. Have a full tank of gas, a destination, and supplies to maybe have on hand if you have to stay out on the road for a few days if traffic is bad (which it most likely will be unless you can get out early). Otherwise, if there is a pandemic like this avian flu, you will not want to be venturing out into the public anymore than absolutely necessary, so you want to have several weeks worth of your precriptions, non perishable food and bottled water on hand so that you can at least quarantine yourselves in your house. Influenza is oftimes contacted before any symptoms show so you may become infected before the news even picks up on the problem. By avoiding plubic places, keeping your hands away from your face and washing your hands often seems to work for all colds and flu. If you find some of your family is sick they should be separated from the rest of the family and those that give care to them should always wear a N-95 rated face mask to avoid exposure to the virus. Good nutrition is essential in keeping your immune system strong, but not being exposed to those that have the infection is your very best defense. Otherwise, I feel that Electro-Pure silver colloid should also be a large part of your preparedness plan. After, years of treating influenza cases I am convinced that at best silver can prevent you from ‘catching’ the flu in the first place and if doses are started at the first sign of infection, can eliminate symptoms completely or at least lessen them greatly. Treatmen should continue for 10-14 days after symptoms are gone. I would suggest at a minimum having on hand 4 ounces of the high potency 150 PPM per family member and some individual Atomizers to be a basic supply in your preparedness kit.
We do hope and pray that we can avoid hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, shipping disruptions, strikes, pandemics and the like but being prepared is not really that hard to do and certainly worth the extra planning now in the event something does happen. If it doesn’t, then all the better; you will be able to eat your stockpiles and restock with fresh supplies as time goes on and always find uses for your Electro-Pure silver colloid any time of year.
